Ask Yours
Do you charge for the call-out or the quote?
+
Quotes and surveys are free with no obligation. For genuine emergencies we'll confirm any labour rate clearly on the phone before we dispatch, and the permanent-fix quote that follows is free and price-fixed for 14 days.
How fast can you be on site?
+
Typically 2–4 hours across the Essex coverage area during normal hours, often faster in Southend, Rayleigh and Wickford. Overnight response depends on engineer availability — we'll be straight with you on the call.
Do you cover suspected gas leaks?
+
Yes — Gas Safe registered, we attend after you've reported the leak to the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999. We then test, locate and repair the internal pipework, with a Gas Safe certificate on completion.
What do I do while I wait for you?
+
Burst pipe: turn off the mains stop-tap (usually near where the water enters the property) and drain the system by opening cold taps. Gas leak: turn off at meter, open windows, do not touch electrics, call 0800 111 999. No heat: stay warm, keep a phone charged — we'll be there.
Will my insurer cover the emergency call-out?
+
Many home insurance and home emergency policies cover the call-out — we provide a fully itemised invoice with engineer report, photographs and timing, which is everything your insurer needs.
Can you repair on the first visit or will you come back?
+
Most emergency calls — leaks, no heat, no hot water — are resolved same visit because we carry common spares. Bigger jobs (failed boiler PCB, collapsed drain) sometimes need a follow-up visit, but the make-safe is always done first.
Do you cover my postcode in Essex?
+
Yes — we work across Southend-on-Sea, Chelmsford, Basildon, Colchester, Brentwood, Rayleigh, Wickford, Billericay and Harlow. If you're outside that ring, call 07809 414913 and we'll confirm coverage before you spend a minute filling in a form.
Are you Gas Safe registered and fully insured?
+
Yes. Gas Safe registered for all gas work, fully insured, and trading as Avanza Heating & Bathrooms Ltd (Companies House 17201187). Gas Safe is our only listed accreditation. Certificates and policy numbers available on request before any work starts.
